We didn't receive it so my husband called back the 20th. We still didn't receive it so hubby called back yesterday (the 26th). I'm hoping the will was recorded. We did find a copy of a will but want to make sure it is the most current one. I believe if we can't find the original and if it wasn't recorded we'll have to go into probate. I'm pretty ignorant about this kind of thing but fortunately we have an appointment next week with our attorney. When I made my will years ago the lawyer asked if I wanted it recorded or not, which I thought was a weird question. I guess some people don't record them when they make them which I think is dumb. I did have mine recorded. The attorney we were supposed to see tomorrow (has been rescheduled for 10/09) said wills are usually recorded upon death, so I guess it is a matter of personal preference. I have no idea why some people would choose not to have their will recorded. Maybe people that put their will in a safety deposit box would choose this option. Dunno.
