I love the little cat. I really do. But she has completely disrupted the life of one of our other cats - FanceePantzz.
Fancee is so afraid and fearful of Lilly that she won’t even come into the kitchen for breakfast or dinner. Fancee stays on the tree my husband built for the cats and seldom comes down. I had to put a litter box near the tree but sometimes Lilly stakes it out and chases her out of it and back up on the tree. So Lilly has the run of the house and Fancee has been held prisoner (by her own fear) on the tree for almost two months now. We just keep hoping it will get better but I don’t think it ever will. Lilly knows she can intimidate Fancee and she is not about to stop.
I guess we’ll just have to find another home for Lilly. It hurts my heart to do it and I’m really going to miss her, but Fancee should not have to live in fear 100% of the time in her own home.

HI CONGRATS ON BEING THE BLOG OF THE DAY IN PPP.THAT IS HOW I STUMBLE ON UR PAGE HERE COZ I SAW U THERE. WISH TO HEAR YOU ON MY PAGE TOO..HAPPY WEEKEND.
Congrats on being blog of the day!
As for Lilly…it’s a very tough situation. Bringing another female cat into a household with at least one other established female cat is always grounds for trouble. Is there any way…do you have a separate room that Fancee could set up “house” in, at least for a little while?
Last April, I brought home a 1-year-old female tortie from PetSmart. Our 10-year-old smacked her around a bit and then the two of them came to an uneasy peace. Our 5-year-old…she went under the couch…and hasn’t come out since. She already had issues before we brought the other cat into the house, but the third cat has made it worse. Bailey lives under our couch and only comes out at night, as we keep the youngest in the bedroom with us to sleep. If at least one of us aren’t home, hubby and I lock the youngest up in the bedroom so the middle cat can come out.
It sounds cruel. People ask me why I don’t find the other cat a new home. There’s no way I could do that. She’s part feral, only trusts my husband, and she’s really not good around people at all. She would be euthanized in a shelter for being anti-social.
Wow. I’ll hush up now. It’s late, and I’m rambling. Congrats on blog of the day!
Thanks for the grats on being Blog of the Day at PayPerPost…
Congrats on being blog of the day!
I wonder if your local humane society would have hints on how to get the animals to get along? My local humane society at http://www.azhumane.org/artimgr/publish/article_514.shtml has a pdf about cat socialization: http://www.azhumane.org/education/behavior/BehaviorInfo/felinesocial.pdf
You are blogger of the day!
Oh, I wish I lived in Florida. That kitty looks just like my kitty that I had to put down a couple of years ago. She was a sweetie. You will have to find her a home. When they start that “catching prey” behavior, there is nothing you can do to stop it.
Good luck.
I hate Cats
May be after i was given injections fearing of poisoning from the wounds our pet gave me…
Thanks for stopping by and come back any time… Maybe next time you can use a name instead of a website name in the name field… you know, the way polite people respond to comments?
