I would get the old one fixed if it doesn't cost too much and if you can afford it, buy a new one too. I don't know where you live if there is a direct outlet store where you can buy a new or refurbished computer with not a lot of money. I just got a new laptop and I am loving it big time!! My desktop just sits upstairs on but it hasn't been used in over a month. About the stressful family situation, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope things work out for you.
