I think I still have just about every bookmark for every page I’ve saved the last 5 years. I’m at the point now that I may as well have no bookmarks at all because when I decide to go back to a page I’ve saved I cannot find it for the life of me! I suppose I’ll have to buckle down and go through and start deleting some of them.
I’d really like an online bookmark manager but I don’t know of any that fit my specifications. I tried del.icio.us but it was more complex than I wanted plus I really don’t care to know what the whole world is bookmarking. I can barely keep up with my own.
I tried FURL and don’t remember why I stopped using it. I think I just got tired of logging in or maybe it was that I was required to add yet another toolbar to my browser. On an side note that’s why I don’t use StumbleUpon. If I’m required to install a toolbar to use a service then I just don’t use it.
Now, where is that site I know I bookmarked last night! arrrrrghhhh…..
LOL I know the feeling. I just keep adding and rarely sort. I did, one time, go through my bookmarks. Took me over an hour or two, and almost half of them didn’t lead anywhere anymore, though that was kinda cool because I could just delete them LOL
Anyway, I totally understand your plight, and I don’t care for del.icio.us either! I had fun here on your blog and will be back!
Thanks for stopping by and come back any time.
Have you tried using Bookmark Base for managing bookmarks?
This tool can consolidate all bookmarks from all browsers, intellectually merge them and help to sort out.
i have this problem too. i once tested how long it´ll take to do an automatic scroll-down with the firefox bookmarks-manager (which is no real manager at all…) - it took about 30 seconds to scroll down. i definitely need a real bookmark manager too. let me know when you find something.
I am guilty of bookmark glut too even though I have sub folders and sub-sub folders I still can’t find jack LOL I did sit down a few months back and start checking the links I don’t use regularly and eliminating the dead ones. But then again I’m sort of anal about stuff like that
It seemed like at one time there was a program that would test all of your bookmarks to see if any were dead but that was forever ago.
BTW, Daethian, I was supposed to get back with you if I wanted to do a blogroll exchange… I got as far as adding you to my blogroll but never made it over to let you know… :p
