I never did finish telling about Old Lady day last week. All in all we didn’t have a bad day. I think she has finally figured out that I don’t like to listen to gossip (unless it is something *I* am interested in!) so she kept her gossip to a minimum that day.
I told her before we ever left her house that I didn’t want to make any extra stops. I only wanted to go to the doctor and come straight home. I caved after the doctor’s office visit though. I was hungry. I asked her if she wanted to go to Bob Evans and boy, oh boy, did that make her happy! So we went.
I wonder what the manager would have done if I had taken pictures with my cell phone. I bet he would have come over and asked me if something was wrong. I didn’t take pictures though so I’ll just have to describe our meals.
I had the Slow-Roasted Turkey Breast:
Tender slices of turkey breast over bread & celery dressing and topped with pan-roasted gravy. Served with mashed potatoes and glazed baby carrots. Garnished with cranberry relish.
My mother-in-law had the Chicken-N-Noodles:
A crock of thick country-style egg noodles simmered in a rich broth with tender slow-roasted chicken and vegetables. Served with a garden salad.
Every time we go out to eat I have to bring my husband a carry-out dinner. It’s mandatory. I brought him Steak Monterey.
A marinated steak cooked-to-order, smothered with grilled mushrooms and onions then topped with Monterey-Jack cheese. Served with a baked potato and garden vegetables.
He didn’t seem to like it very much so next time I’ll get him something else. He said it was “all right”.
The Old Lady and I both enjoyed our meals very much. Maybe next time we go I’ll take some pictures.
