Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot

That’s what I have to keep telling myself to keep moving. I REALLY don’t want to go anywhere today but I have to take the Old Lady to the doctor for her monthly blood test.

We were supposed to take the Old Lady’s kitty (Lilly White) to the rescue center to have her micro-chip inserted but they are giving me the runaround. When she was spayed last week and the center was out of chips the center owner said I could bring her back this week. I specifically asked if a vet had to be there and she said no, she could do it as long as she had someone to hold the cat. Today she tells me she will not have a vet there until June 20 or 21 and that I had to wait until then. I reminded her that she said a vet doesn’t have to be there but she backtracked and said she does not have anyone to hold today and on the 20th or 21st she is sure someone will be there. I just said okay, I’ll bring her then.

I’m going to get this chip inserted at the rescue center because it is already paid for and I believe if we take Lilly to our regular vet it will cost $40.00 (or was that $60.00, I don’t remember the exact price now). At any rate, I’m not paying for something I already paid for. Period.

But back to my Old Lady rant - I dread this trip to the doctor. It is always such a freaking hassle just getting the Old Lady into and out of the car and into and out of where ever we are going. Gawd I hate it. :(

I know what you mean. Today I would really enjoy just staying at home all day. But, I have to get out and go somewhere. Not to mention that it is a formal attire event, meaning I have to get all dressed up in my uncomfortable suit. (Who came up with the idea for men to wear coats during the summertime when its hot? I hate it!)

I was confused with what you meant by Old Lady, since I hadnt read here in a while. I’m guessing that you are talking about a cat, but at first I thought you were talking about a real old lady, haha.

hehe, the Old Lady is my mother-in-law! I have a whole catagory dedicated to her… Lilly White is my mother-in-law’s cat… I edited my post to make it a little more clear…

I know it sounds crude, but even my husband calls her the Old Lady and does it in front of her too… she doesn’t care… I guess that’s just the way it is in a dysfunctional family… :p

I was very lazy today myself…I guess that comes with the joy of being single, lol.
Have a good holiday weekend!

Yep, I hate it… it isn’t so bad taking my mother-in-law in for her monthly blood test… they usually take her right in and all they do is stick her finger… the ordeal is getting the old lady out of her house, into my car, out of the car, into the doctor’s office, out of the doctor’s office, into the car, out of the car, into Bob Evans restaurant (I don’t mind that one so much), out of the restaurant, into the car, out of the car, and back into her house… hehe, I know I complain a lot but hey, what else is a blog good for if not to be able to complain about whatever you want to…? :)

I think everyone has nicknames for their pets. Our bull dog is nicknamed Stinky Booty, care to guess why? :p She comes to it when you call her too! Microchips are essential for your pet. Our Pekingese was lost right before Halloween in 2003. We put up flyers everywhere, ran an ad in the paper and contacted every nearby Vet office….and got nothing. 18 months later, we got a call from a shelter in Des Moines, Iowa. Apparently someone that lived in our neighbor in Las Vegas took her and moved there. She got lose from them and a good samaritan picked her up and took to the shelter. We only got her back because of her microchip. I can’t stress how important it is to have your pets chipped.
